This basic curry crouton recipe is the perfect addition to any salad or soup. What's not to love about bread, curry powder, honey and butter. Hi guys! Like seriously where has the month of August gone? The kids are back in school. The summer for them is officially over. I am kinda sad to see them go off to slay dragons in elementary school. I am super glad I got to overdose on them. My brat pack is my happy place. They are super easy to love. But can I just say I’m also glad they are back in school? I suppose to some that might seem selfish, but all my moms out there get it. I love hanging with them but I literally answered 1003 questions daily. I negotiated with them and lost. But I did spend some quality time outside and in the kitchen with them. This curry croutons recipe is a current favorite right now. This basic curry crouton recipe is the perfect addition to any salad or soup. What's not to love about bread, curry powder, honey and butter. But what I absolutely loved this summer was cooking with the kids. Jade is a neat little chef. She baked muffins for our breakfast dates. She also baked most of our desserts. She is just fantastic. This recipe actually came about because of her. She is a huge fan of all things curried. And all things bready. She waked into the kitchen and told me that we sound make curry toast to go with our soup for dinner. Like where did that idea come from? Did it pop into her mind after piano lessons? Or before bingeing on Teen Titan Go? This basic curry crouton recipe is the perfect addition to any salad or soup. What's not to love about bread, curry powder, honey and butter. I will say, it was a big hit! We ate the first batch by ourselves in the kitchen in complete silence. I didn’t want to share and neither did Jade. We loved every bit. We licked our fingers clean and pretended as if nothing happened. The addition of the honey at the end perfectly balanced out the warming curry spices. Also you can make this recipe without the butter and it will be just perfect. Make it today and love it forever. Peace and Love, Ann

Curry Croutons

This basic curry croutons recipe is the perfect addition to any salad or soup. What’s not to love about bread, curry powder, honey and butter.
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

  • 3 Slices Bread ( we’ve used Sourdough and whole wheat)
  • 2 Tablespoon Butter or olive oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Curry Powder (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1-2 Tablespoon Honey (Start with one tablespoon and go crazy)
  • 1 Teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Heat the oil/butter in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat until shimmering. Add the bread to the pan, sprinkle with the curry powder and salt, toss to coat with the oil, and arrange in a single layer. Toast the bread, tossing every minute or so, until the bread cubes are golden-brown on all sides. Remove the pan from the heat. Taste and season with additional salt if needed. Cover with honey and extra curry powder.  Serve immediately or let cool completely for later. Enjoy!
